Lecturer profile:
Professor Chi Guoxiang graduated from the Department of Geology, Fuzhou University (B.S.), the Changsha Institute of Geotectonics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (M.S.), and the University of Quebec, Canada (Ph.D.). He has served as an associate researcher at the University of Quebec, a researcher at the Canadian Geological Survey, an associate professor, professor, and chair of the Department of Geology at the University of Regina, and is now a tenured professor at the University of Regina. His main research fields are fluid geochemistry and fluid dynamics related to the formation mechanism of metalliferous deposits and hydrocarbon reservoirs. His main research methods include numerical simulation of fluid inclusions, stable isotopes, fluid flow, and geochemical reactions. His current research interests include the hydrodynamic relationship between shallow and deep metallogenic systems and the ore-controlling mechanisms of various types of uranium deposits. His team has focused on the study of ore-forming fluid dynamics and fluid geochemistry in sedimentary basins in recent years, and has achieved remarkable results. More than 200 papers have been published in international journals such as Economic Geology, Mineralium Deposita, Ore Geology Reviews, Earth and Planetary Science Letters, and Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta. Prof. Chi Guoxiang is currently the associate editor of Ore Geology Reviews and Acta Geologica Sinica and is on the editorial board of several mainstream geoscience journals.
