Lecturer profile:
Tang Guoan is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Geographical Sciences, Nanjing Normal University. He is also a member of the Geography Discipline Review Group of the State Council Degree Office, the vice chairman of the Geographical Science Professional Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, the deputy secretary-general of the China GIS Association and the director of the Education Work Committee. He has won the titles of National Famous Teaching Teacher and "National Model Teacher", and was selected into the National High-level Talent Program. Invited by the CPC Central Committee, as a representative of the country's advanced model figures, he participated in the centenary celebration of the founding of the CPC. Mainly engaged in the basic theory and methods of geographic information science, digital terrain analysis, erosion landforms, and other scientific research work. He has presided over more than 10 national scientific research projects, and his research achievements have won the second prize in the National Science and Technology Progress Award and 5 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards. The course "Principles of Geographic Information System" taught by him has won the national excellent course, the national excellent resource sharing course, the national excellent video open course, the national first-class course, the "curriculum ideological and political demonstration course" of the Ministry of Education, the two textbooks edited by the chief editor have won the national planning textbook, and the GIS teaching team of Nanjing Normal University in charge has won the national teaching team and the Huang Danian-style teacher team of the Ministry of Education.
