Expert Profile:

Dong Guanghui, who is a professor at the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University, and a recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, is mainly interested in environmental archaeology and environmental change research. He is also the director of the Environmental Change and Environmental Archaeology Committee of the Chinese Geographical Society, the deputy director of the Human Evolution and Environmental Archaeology Committee of the Chinese Society for Quaternary Studies, the deputy director of the Science and Technology Archaeology Committee of the Chinese Society for History of Science and Technology, and the director of the Center for Environmental Archaeology of Northwest and Central Asia of Lanzhou University. As a first or corresponding author (including the co-corresponding author), he has published more than 40 articles in Science, Nature Plants, National Science Review, PNAS, Chinese Science and Earth Science journals, and other journals. He has been listed as one of the Highly Cited Scholars in China in 2019. He was awarded the First Prize of Natural Science by the Ministry of Education (second completer), the Liu Dongsheng Young Geoscientist Award, and other honors.

Liu Lei, Ph.D., is a young researcher at the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University. He has been engaged in global remote sensing monitoring of reactive nitrogen and the impact of human activities for a long time. He has made a series of research results in remote sensing model construction of near-surface reactive nitrogen concentration and nitrogen deposition, estimation of agricultural ammonia emission, and agricultural nitrogen cycle. He has published more than 40 papers in domestic and international journals, including 2 ESI highly cited papers and more than 1400 citations in SCI, including PNAS, ES&T, RSE, ACP, JGR, etc. His paper on remote sensing estimation of nitrogen deposition was selected as one of the "EGU Highlight Papers" in 2020. His doctoral dissertation "Remote sensing estimation of global terrestrial atmospheric inorganic nitrogen deposition" was awarded the "Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of Jiangsu Province". His contribution to the construction of a remote sensing model of nitrogen deposition was awarded the "Li Xiaowen Remote Sensing Science Youth Award".
