Lecturer Profile:
Zhang Baoqing, Professor, Ph.D. supervisor, has long been engaged in the research of ecological hydrology and hydrometeorology in the dry zone. In 2020, he was awarded the National Natural Science Foundation of China's "Excellent Youth Science Fund" project. In 2021, he was selected as "Lanzhou University's Cuiying Scholar Level 3 Post" and "Gansu Province Leading Talents (Second Level)". He has published more than 40 high-level academic papers as the first/corresponding author, mainly in classic journals in the industry such as Water Resources Research, which have been cited nearly 1600 times. His doctoral dissertation was awarded the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation in Shanxi Province in 2016. He has chaired three national foundation projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) "Excellent Young Scientists Foundation" project, one National Key Research and Development Program project, one NSFC Major Research Program sub-project, and two NSFC Key Project sub-projects. He has also participated in 1 Strategic Pilot Project (Class A) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 7 other projects at the provincial and ministerial levels. He has applied for 5 national invention patents, of which 1 has been granted. Based on the applicant's research results, the project "Drought Processes and Rainwater Resources in the Loess Plateau" won the first prize in Shanxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. The relevant results were adopted and implemented by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Department of Natural Resources of Gansu Province, and supported the preparation of the national "Outline of Ecological Protection and High-Quality Development Plan for the Yellow River Basin" and the "Implementation Plan for Ecological Protection and Restoration Plan for the Yellow River Basin of Gansu Province".
Ma Weijing, a young researcher, is a correspondence reviewer for the National Scholarship Council. His research interests include agroecosystem response and adaptation in the context of climate change, basin socio-ecosystem sustainability assessment, water-food-energy-carbon coupling, virtual water trade, transboundary material metabolism, and environmental effects. In recent years, he has participated in more than 10 projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science and Technology Support Program, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and local government projects. He has published many academic papers in journals such as Science of the Total Environment, Agricultural Water Management, and Journal of Natural Resources. He has participated in the preparation of Theory and Practice of Ecological Compensation in Germany and is currently a reviewer for journals such as Agricultural water management, Science of the Total Environment, and Environmental Research Letters.
